Foundation Center Cooperating Collection

The Foundation CenterThe White Plains Public Library is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center. As a member of this nationwide network of libraries, community foundations and other nonprofit agencies, the White Plains Public Library provides visitors with a free public access to grantmaker directories, books on fundraising and nonprofit management, and the Foundation Center's electronic databases, Foundation Directory Online Professional and Foundation Grants to Individuals Online. The fully searchable databases include profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of recent grants awarded by the nation's top funders. Many print resources are available for both in-library use and loan.

Our librarians can assist you in person at the Reference Desk, by phone (914) 422-1480 or online.

Tip for grantseekers: Grantmakers typically fund nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations whose purposes are charitable, educational, scientific, religious, literary or cultural. Most foundations do not make grants to individuals or for-profit organizations.
